Review: Losing Julia

Losing Julia by Jonathan Hull

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I read this book probably 15 years ago (or more) but when people ask me what my favorite books are, this is in the top 5. WWI is not a frequent time period in the fiction books I’ve read and, to be honest, I sometimes have a hard time immersing myself in historic fiction. That is not the case with this book. Jonathan Hill truly did a wonderful job making me forget modernity.
I met my husband while he was in the US Army so this book struck an extra chord with me. I felt the love and shed many tears. I get a lump in my throat recalling the ending as I write this review.
If you enjoy historic fiction, love stories, and internal conflict, I highly recommend adding this to your bookshelf.
