Review: Rescuing Mary

Rescuing Mary by Susan Stoker

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was one of two books by Susan Stoker (the other being Shelter for Penelope) that I wanted to read from Book 1 of the series! Truck (aka Ford) was such a loving friend all throughout the series even when Mary, brash and opinionated and defensive, tried to push him away. I especially love in these two, how they stuck together when the group fractured seemingly irreparably. Now, I’m not a fan of amnesia stories as I think that is a somewhat easy foundation to hit the reset button but when this character remembers? It was predictable but lovely at the same time. I feel like these two characters had a deeper connection/love than any of the others in the series.
