In the tapestry of life, every thread—be it joy or adversity—contributes to the beauty of your story.
What do you think? Did you have to go through bad stuff to get to where you are and the person you are, or would you have been who you are regardless?
I have a lot of anger from sexual abuse I suffered as a child, but it’s made me a more vigilant mother. It also made me lash our and hurt people I blamed though.
My emotionally absent father caused me to choose the wrong men for a while, but I appreciate my loving husband even more.
The tumor in my head robbed me of my thirties and my wish to have more children. It nearly broke me, but because of my medical issues, I am more compassionate and understanding of invisible disabilities like arthritis, anxiety, and depression. I look upon my daughter as the miracle, the one bright spot during a very dark time. Battling my tumor also taught me a lesson about strength and perseverance. Surviving it all gave me no more excuses, told me to waste no more time.
It’s a nice sentiment and I get the point. All of our life experiences contribute to the story of our lives. That being said, I think I could have done without some things – just saying.
