Oh, and fuck Coral Hart’s AI slop.
Real romance makes you feel seen — the ache, the risk, the specific weight of wanting someone. That only comes from a writer who has lived inside a body and a heart.
AI can’t do that. It spits out competent tropes, mechanical sex, and the same recycled metaphors on loop. “Ragged prayer.” Tangled sheets. Chemistry that exists only because the prompt said so.
Two hundred near-identical books in a year isn’t prolific. It’s content farming. And it’s drowning the writers who still bleed on the page.
Readers deserve stories that actually move them. Writers who still do the hard, human work deserve a market that doesn’t bury them in algorithmic sludge. Protect the craft, because it may have started with Romance, but they’re coming for all genres.
I used to be annoyed by the random misspelling, the missed comma, the one too many characters, or the plot hole that was never closed. Now? They’re a sign of the blood, sweat, and tears of a human trying to share a story. And I’m down for that 📚
